Joe Hendry Reportedly Signs With WWE

Joe Hendry is officially WWE-bound, reportedly signing a deal with the company. Fightful Select reports that the former TNA World Champion is officially signed with WWE. He is also effectively done with TNA in an official capacity.

Hendry has not been used on TNA Impact in quite a while, but has shown up on WWE NXT. The site reports that Hendry is not internally listed for this weekend’s TNA shows and was not at TNA Bound For Glory. People in TNA said that if he makes a surprise appearance at Turning Point it would not be a surprise, as he lives in the area.

Sources in WWE confirmed that Hendry is full-time with WWE and signed with the company. WWE has wanted Hendry for some time, and Shawn Michaels has been a vocal fan of his. The site notes that Michaels wanted WWE to try and buy out his TNA contract.

Hendry had several months remaining on his TNA contract, but he is now with WWE going ahead. Hendry used representation to amicably move forward and transition to WWE. He has made a number of high-profile appearances for WWE, including WrestleMania where he faced Randy Orton. He’s set to team with Thea Hail to challenge for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships at NXT Gold Rush.
