Joe Rogan Says Ric Flair Was Targeted In Podcast Scam

A scam centered around falsely booking podcast guests tried to tried to bilk Ric Flair, according to Joe Rogan. Rogan revealed on an episode of his Joe Rogan Experience last month that a scammer tried to lure Flair into giving him financial information by pretending to be the booker for Rogan.

The scam involves someone contacting a prospective mark under the guise of being in charge of booking guests. The scammer says an appearance fee will be paid and ask for bank account information in order to send the payment too. They then use that information to steal the mark’s money.

“I got to apologize to Ric Flair,” Rogan said (per F4W Online). “He got scammed,. So some person reached out and said that they were representing this podcast and he was going to come on the podcast. I think [comedian] Tim Dillon, this happened with him too. It didn’t happen with him where they got him, but they send you an email saying that they’re going to have you come on a podcast but they need your bank information… If you get an email like that from me, it’s not real. Sorry, Ric Flair. I don’t know if he lost his money.”

Flair previously appeared on Rogan’s podcast in April of 2023. He did post to Twitter in December of last year saying amid the backlash that he received over poor Cameo experiences, writing:

“I am so thankful & happy to announce that i have been invited to be on Joe Rogan’s podcast again! I will be discussing my problem with everyone who has an issue with me with THE GREAT JOE ROGAN. The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast is recognized as the best podcast of all times! You know who I am talking about; go look in the mirror. Joe Rogan doesn’t bulls**t, and neither do I.”

While Flair did not end up appearing on the podcast at that time, it is not confirmed whether this is when the scammer targeted him now whether he was in fact scammed.
