John Cena has explained why he wanted the women of The Judgment Day to play a hands-on role in his Survivor Series 2025 match against Dominik Mysterio. The event was Cena’s last PLE appearance before he retired at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
At Survivor Series 2025, Cena defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio, with The Judgment Day using its numbers throughout the match. Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez each hit Cena with their finishers, while Liv Morgan returned from a five-month injury hiatus to help Mysterio capture the IC Title.
Speaking during Season 3 of WWE: Unreal, John Cena discussed the Intercontinental Championship match against Dominik Mysterio and said the creative team had the freedom to tell the story the way they wanted. Rather than keeping The Judgment Day’s women away, Cena wanted them to become part of the match. (via Fightful)
“We had the creative freedom to use every paint on the palette. I want the girls to come ringside. I want them physically involved, both in the match in a traditional way of, like, tripping and hitting. But I also want them to hit bombs because it’s believable enough to be like, ‘Oh f**k. The kid could win with that.”
Following the match, Cena recieved a standing ovation from the fans. At the same time, the match gave the female Judgment Day members key moments that helped shape the outcome, with Dominik Mysterio winning the Intercontinental Championship for the second time, securing The Judgment Day’s presence as a dominant faction.
