John Cena To Defend Intercontinental Title At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

Dominik Mysterio has a chance to win back the WWE Intercontinental Title, securing a rematch against John Cena for Survivor Series: WarGames. Mysterio appeared in the opening segment of Monday’s WWE Raw. The Judgment Day member interrupted John Cena’s promo, in which Cena said he wanted a last match on Raw and in Madison Square Garden.

Mysterio came out and said that he a rematch for the Intercontinental Title. Mysterio of course lost the title to Cena on last week’s Raw. Cena was willing to defend the title. However, Mysterio said he wanted the match at Survivor Series.

Cena agreed to the match, before Finn Balor and JD McDonagh came out to back up Dominik. Sheamus and Rey Mysterio backed up Cena, leading to a six-man tag. Despite Judgment Day hitting Cena with all their top-rope moves and triple pinning him, Cena was able to escape by way of a save from his partner. Cena got the win by victory of pinning McDonagh after a Triple Five-Knuckle Shuffle, a 619, Brogue Kick, and an AA to McDonagh. You can see highlights from the match below.

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames takes place on November 29th from PetCo Park in San Diego, California. The show airs live on the ESPN App and Netflix internationally. We’ll have an updated card for the show after tonight’s Raw.
