John Cena sent a heartfelt message to The Miz on the 20th anniversary of the latter’s WWE TV debut.
The Miz debuted on WWE TV on the September 2, 2006, episode of SmackDown, battling Tatanka in a winning cause. Despite being written off initially, The Miz went on to carve out a legendary career in the company, earning the respect of his peers and fans.
Earlier today, the SmackDown Superstar reflected on his 20-year journey on WWE television with a social media post. Cena, who battled The Miz several times during his legendary career, including the main event of WrestleMania 27, quoted the post and wrote that the multi-time Intercontinental Champion earned his respect a long time ago with his work ethic and that the latter is an example he always cites while interacting with younger talents.
“Respect is earned. You earned mine a long time ago. Each sunset makes it far more difficult for most anyone else to deny theirs. Congratulations on an incredible 20 years! You ARE the example I consistently bring up to young talent of effort & turning anything into entertainment!” John Cena wrote.
