Impact Zone! It’s Thursday Night, which means that we are in for a brand new edition of the delight known as Impact! Coming to us from the taped sessions that took place in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, tonight will feature a plethora of matches with title implications and some general bad blood.

For more on this and everything else, let’s get to the Headlines!

Only one can qualify! With Leon Slater vacating the X-Division Title for the Option-C World Title shot at Bound for Glory, we will need to crown a new X-Champion, starting with a qualifier between K.C. Navarro and the newly signed Joe Alonzo.

The Gauntlet has been Laid! After Allie found a replacement for Rosemary in the form of the returning Kiera Hogan, the duo defended the Knockouts Tag Team Titles at Lockdown, and tonight, they throw out the open challenge for anyone to challenge them.

Who Will Ali Face? After forming a recent alliance to combat Order-4, Jason Hotch and Trey Miguel will find themselves facing off in a number one contender’s match to determine who will face Mustafa Ali for the X-Title, probably at BFG.

Bitterness to the Max! Indi Hartwell’s issues with Daria Rae have turned into another problem entirely when the debuting Zoey Serrano appeared and attacked Indi, and tonight, Indi will team up with Harley Hudson to face Zoey and the Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside.

Uncle Dutch and his Nephew Brandon! The Righteous turned their attention towards recruiting BDE to “The Many”, and after defeating BDE and Rich Swann at Lockdown, the narrative has now switched to a one-on-one encounter between Dutch and Brandon.

Tackled For a Loss! A.J. Francis, still huffing the fumes from his win over Elijah at Lockdown, will face an opponent to be named. All of this and, of course, so much more in store for us tonight!

So how is everyone doing on this Thursday Night? It’s just a matter of ten days until the Eagles season begins, twenty days until I see the legendary Cheap Trick, and twenty-seven days until the Flyers season begins. If the heat decided to go away and stay away, this could be a nice September, indeed!

But enough about me and enough about you, let’s get ready to brace for Impact!

Tonight is LIVE (to TAPE) from the outskirts of Toronto aka Doug Ford Country! Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt will bring us the call! Also, since I totally and legally changed service providers, I am able to watch Impact on AMC, so I am curious as to how much different is, or isn’t lol.

I’M READY FOR YOU aka the title sequence!

Matt Hardy is here to open the show. Matter of Fact states that Matt always partakes in Tim Horton’s coffee when he’s in Canada. Tom tells us that Jeff Hardy was “attacked” last week. Yep, we’re still doing this facade lol. Matt gets the mic. Matt and his brother walked into Lockdown as the TNA World Tag Team Champions, but we didn’t walk out as tag team champions. And there are no excuses to make; the Nemeth Brothers beat us. Everyone around the world and in this arena call us the GOATS, but the fact is that they didn’t live up to expectations.

Their goal at the age of 14 was to hold the tag team titles just ONCE. But they ended up holding tag team titles across every major company around the world. But the best reigns have come here in TNA! They were going to cash-in their rematch for the titles, but someone attacked Jeff and he was loaded into ambulance. It hurt Matt because Jeff always bounces back no matter what, but he couldn’t remember what happened to him that night. And who has the most to gain from attacking Jeff? The men who knew they had a contract rematch, Ryan and Nic Nemeth. You can take us out, but we will never DIE!

The Nemeth Brothers are here! Nic asks why Matt won’t die and says he is old man yelling at cloud. Matt isn’t making excuses and yet here you are making excuses. When we beat you at Lockdown, we did it for the money, for the box office, because it makes us happy. And you better watch your mouth with your accusations, because they didn’t lay a hand on Jeff. Ryan and Nic are the best wrestling family in the business. And they don’t work for free, so they didn’t attack Jeff. Nic keeps asking Matt what he is looking at, and Matt says you did it, you just won’t admit it.

Matt sucker punches Nic! Matt fights off Ryan until the 2-on-1 advantage is too much for him. Security is here to try and break things up. Matt gets away and tries to get to Nic, but Ryan pulls his BIG BROTHER out of the ring.

Gia Miller has Trey Miguel in the back. Gia says the stakes are high tonight, as you face Jason Hotch for a shot at Ali’s title when he comes back. Trey says he came back and he wanted to work with Jason. He trained him, hell, he loves Hotch. But tonight, it is just about business and it’s nothing personal. And Trey knows that Ali is in a hospital bed, but when he is cleared, you have payback coming your way!

Tom and Matt run down the card for tonight. The Money Man AJ Francis is in action, next!

Elayna Black is in the back. Everything that she went through in her match at Lockdown has affected her, but she is better than that and she will rebound. Here come the Elegance Brand. Iceman wants to know if they are interrupting anything important. Maggie says that you should stay out of the way of the TV Champion! Elayna challenges her for a shot at the title, unless she is scared. Maggie says scared of you? She is not afraid of Black, but Heather will fight her.

Heather: Wait, what?

Black likes this idea and she takes her leave.

Expressions is out with the Money Man to rip on Toronto and the country of Canada. He can’t wait to get to the greatest city in the World, London, England!

AJ Francis vs. Brent Oakley

Oakley tries to jump Francis to no luck. He tries it again, but he fails once more. Francis smacks him, but Oakley trips up Francis in the ropes. He hits a sliding German and he steals Expressions hat! Oakley to the top, but he jumps into a VERY dodgy looking TFL and that’s game.
WINNER: A.J. Francis
TIME: 45 whole seconds
THOUGHTS: I mean, sure.

Post-match, Francis grabs the mic. Since he made easy work of this punk, how about he calls someone else out. He is the best AJ in TNA, and he wants to prove this by challenging Avery Styles. So, if it isn’t past your bedtime, come on out and I’ll give you the ass whopping that your daddy never did.

Santino Marella is here! SONOFAGUN! Usually, he doesn’t agree with “Francie” and “Expression,” but this time he does. He wants to bring Avery out to the ramp, and here comes the son of the Phenomenal One! Marella asks him if he wants to make his TNA Impact debut against Francis, and Avery says HELL YEAH! Here comes Frankie Kazarian! He says that Styles isn’t ready for a man the size of AJ Francis. He wants his music hit and they take off.

Zoey Serrano and Xia Brookside are walking! Daria Rae shows up, and she says this was a nice reunion, but tonight, she wants them to take out Indi and Harley for good! What a real BITCH of a boss.

It’s time for some actual wrestling! The Suit is at ring side. She calls Tom “Tim”, and Tom calls her Diareha Rae. So clever lol.

Indi Hartwell and Harley Hudson vs. Zoey Serrano and TNA Knockouts World Champion Xia Brookside

Hartwell and Brookside to start this one. Wait, Xia tags in Zoey, who looks at her like, “Is this bitch serious?” Hartwell with a double leg to Serrano and she pounds away. Hartwell sends Serrano to the apron, and she decks her with a clothesline. Zoey hits the floor and she starts arguing with Xia. Zoey smacks a fan who is TOTALLY not a plant at ring side. She storms over to Xia and puts her finger in her face, and Brookside backs off as we hit the break.

Brookside is choking Hudson with her own arms as we return. Tom again calls Daria Diahrea Rae again and blames Indi lol. What a dork. Tag to Zoey, she runs the ropes, but Harley moves, and Zoey smashes Brookside with a lariat. Harley with a monkey flip and she tags in Hartwell. Indi runs over both Zoey and Xia and plants Serrano with a clothesline for a two. Hartwell scoops up Zoey, Serrano looking Z-28, but Indi with the spine on the pine for a two. Brookside takes out Hartwell, so Hudson with a thrust kick to the Champion!

Everyone knockout is done as the fans chant THIS IS AWESOME. All four ladies to their feet, Brookside sends Hudson to the floor, Zoey with a German to Indi. Brookside tags herself in, but the pin is only a two. Brookside sasses Serrano, which allows Hartwell the chance to take them out. Hudson with a crossbody to Zoey on the floor, and Indi applies a version of the Butterfly Headlock (according to Matt), and Brookside taps out!
WINNERS: Indi Hartwell and Harley Hudson

THOUGHTS: A fairly good match. I liked the chemistry between Hudson and Hartwell, whereas the Serrano-Brookside chemistry was gloriously terrible.

WHOSE BLEESED? KC’S BLESSED! Leon Slater is on commentary with the guys. Joe Alanzo makes his entrance, and he calls Toronto “Montreal”. Oh, this guy is giving me serious Ryan Nemeth vibes, which is stank. Alonzo says that it’s so weird that Leon Slater gave up his X-Division Title as soon as Joe got there! He guesses Slater was afraid of Alonzo, and he would take the title from him. But Leon can watch from the best seat in the house as he takes care of this “Upma Lumpa” KC Navarro. He tells the fans to boo him, because he would too because no one else can be me! Dear Dog….

TNA X-Division qualifying match for Bound for Glory: KC Navarro vs. Joe Alanzo

Navarro keeps Alonzo off-balance at the bell. He takes out Joe and then pats him on the head lol. Alonzo sends him off, but KC does the Spider-Man and that cause Alonzo to hit the floor. Navarro fist bumps Navarro and he head back to the top. Alonzo shoves KC from the top and down to the arena floor. Paige the Ref checks on him and heads back in to start the count.

Alonzo heads out and hits a back suplex to KC onto the apron. Joe rolls KC back into the ring and pins him for a two. SLOPPY JOE chants LOL. Scoop slam from Alonzo, who takes time to smack talk Slater before turning into offense from Navarro. Alonzo puts an end to that with a belly-to-back suplex for another two. Alonzo jams the knee into the back of Navarro, KC to his feet, but Joe rips him back down to the mat. Davey Boy Smith approved chinlock from Alonzo now, Navarro back to his feet, both men off the ropes, and we have a car crash in the middle of the ring.

KC to his feet and he is fired up! Corner splash, off the ropes, KC takes Joe around the World with a DDT for a two. Alonzo rolls to the apron, Navarro grabs him from behind, but Alonzo snaps his head off the top rope. Alonzo off the ropes with a springboard double axe handle for a two. Navarro reverses Joe with an enziguri, he trips up Alonzo into the ropes, 305 connects! Blessing in Disguise, but Alonzo throws Paige in the way! Navarro counters Alonzo’s double arm with an up kick and a roll-up for a two. The Blessing in Disguise connects for real and KC moves on!
WINNER: K.C. Navarro

THOUGHTS: I’m happy KC won here and he looked good. Alonzo sounds like a carbon copy of Ryan Nemeth, so that kind of dissuades me from liking him. Maybe he’ll grow on me eventually, but tonight was not that night.

In the back, Fabian Aichner is clapping. He is happy for Leon Slater winning his match after the wars they went through together with the System, and next week, he will qualify for the X-Division match at Bound for Glory, and he will win the title. He will prove why Fabio is number one.

TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Allie and Kiera Hogan vs. Shaaza McKenize and Vipress

This is a non-title match. Allie and McKenzie to start this one. McKenzie makes fun of her and takes Allie to the corner, but she leaves herself open for strikes. Thesz Press from Allie! OH, HELL YEAH! Tag to Hogan, McKenzie sent to the corner, big running forearm from Allie who laughs, Hogan with the one-legged dropkick for a two. Drop-toehold to McKenzie and she hits her with a Teabag! Hogan steps onto the back of Shazza and hits her with a leg drop. The cover again for a two.

Vipress holds on to McKenzie and that draws Hogan in, who gets tripped up into the ropes. Vipress in officially, and she hits her own running teabag to Hogan. Tag to MeKenzie, who looks to keep Hogan grounded with the dreaded chinlock. Hogan to her feet and she scores with not ONE but TWO thrust kicks! Tag to Allie, who takes out Vipress. Allie with the Tarantula! Allie wanting for Vipress, McKenzie is in, but Kiera takes her out. Codebreaker to Vipress, Face the Music from Hogan, and the Champs win!

THOUGHTS: Pretty formulaic, although I must admit that I was happy that this wasn’t a squash in the same vein as the opening match was. Allie getting the pin in her hometown is always a great thing.
RATING: **3/4

Daria Rae is on the phone in the back. Indi Hartwell comes in clapping. SHUTUPSHESTALKING! Indi wants to know if she gets a Knockouts Title match now that she tapped out her Champion in the middle of the ring. Daria says that the new number one contender will be Gabby Forza. Indi admits that she is strong and she’s good, but she just got here. Daria feigns taking a call so she can walk away from Indi lol.

Ricky Sosa is in the back. These past couple of weeks have been rough for him. He is in pain, but he will survive. The System tried to put him down, but he will never stay down.

DO YOU WANNA KNOW SOMETHING? Good Lord it’s the System. Myers says you have guts, kid, but that isn’t enough to beat the System. Elijah shows up and he tells them to leave the kid alone. He didn’t forget that they left him lying last week, and there is unfinished business here. Eddie tells him to take it up with Daria Rae, and the System depart.

It’s time for the RIGHT-E-OUS!

Dutch w/Vincent vs. BDE w/Rich Swann

The bell rings, but Vincent has the mic. Before we do this, he has to explain something to Brandon. They have been watching him for weeks, and they have tried to get through to him that they know what he wants. And what he wants is his first singles win. So, Vincent tells Dutch to lay down! Dutch proceeds to lay down, and BDE looks around confused. Vincent tells BDE to look at him, and he says your very first singles win is right there, all you have to do is take it.

Well, BDE doesn’t listen to sound logic, and he hits Dutch with an elbow drop. Dutch is enraged as he tosses BDE to the corner. BDE off the top, but Dutch catches him like a flyball and throws him to the mat. BDE gets acquainted the hard way with two corners of the ring. Big corner smash and a clothesline from Dutch follow. Dutch palms the face of BDE and then throws him to the mat. Dutch with shots to the throat of BDE. Brandon to his feet, he lands some punches and a thrust kick, but his Clip Cutter is countered with Death Walks from Dutch for the win.
WINNER: Dutch
TIME: 3:55
THOUGHTS: A little over half of the match was Vincent cutting a promo, and the rest of it was Dutch attempting to kill BDE. It doesn’t feel like the wheels are spinning here.
RATING: Manic Depressive

Post-match, Dutch stands over BDE and backs off when Swann gets into the ring. Rich checks on Brandon, but Vincent hits the ring and he plants him with a Spiral DDT! Dutch picks up BDE and carries him up the ramp while giving us furious tongue action. Foreshadowing?

Trey Miguel will face Jason Hotch for the #1 Contenders shot at the International Title, next!

Mila Moore is on the phone with someone, I’m guessing Ali. She tells him that the match is starting and then says Special Agent Zero, got it. John Skylar walks up to her, and I THINK he is about to ask her out or something, but she takes another call from Ali and walks away. Keep trying, Johnny Boy!

It’s time for Spider-Trey and Top Notch Hotch! I am REALLY hoping that these guys save this show, because it’s been the definition of MEH.

#1 Contenders match for the TNA International Title: Jason Hotch vs. Trey Miguel

The bell rings, and both men come face-to-face and trade some words before looking around the arena. Hotch backs up a bit and then offers the handshake, which Miguel accepts. Lock-up, Hotch takes Miguel to the corner, Trey brings him back to the middle of the ring, clean break. Another lock-up, Trey with arm control and he brings Jason to the mat. Hotch back to his feet and he dances circles to escape before dropping Miguel to the mat.

Both men to their feet, Hotch with control of the arm. Trey works his way free and hits an arm drag on Hotch. Drop-step go-behind by Miguel, both men trade the advantage, and it ends with an arm drag from Hotch. Jason wants a test of strength, he bends Miguel over his knee, Miguel to his feet, so Hotch fires him off the ropes. A lot of counters and roll-ups are traded. Counter arm drags and counter dropkicks that don’t connect! Stalemate City as we hit the break!

Miguel pins Hotch for a two as we return. Corner uppercut from Trey and he hits a basement dropkick for another two. Miguel with a front face-lock, Hotch to his feet, back body drop from Hotch, but Trey with the sunset flip counter. Hotch boots Miguel in the face and he looks upset at himself, but he goes into the pin for a two. Back Drop Driver from Hotch for another two. Trey springboards out of Hotch’s next move and he kicks Hotch away. To the top, Miguel lands on his feet, but he hits a double stomp into the Asai Moonsault for a two.

Hotch to his feet, Miguel hits the corner, and Jason lays in the clotheslines. Roll-up into his own double stomp to Miguel. Miguel reverses Hotch, but he lands on the apron and hits an enziguri. Rolling neck breaker from Hotch for a two. Hotch with the Dragon Sleeper set-up, but Trey frees himself and he hits quick kicks and another stomp to the back of the neck of Hotch for a two. Miguel heads up top, Hotch to his feet, he moves and lights up Trey with a big boot. Jason to the top now, Miguel moves, short range Double Stomp from Hotch for a two!

Miguel is situated on the top rope, Hotch goes up, Bell Clap from Trey, but Miguel counters the Sunset Bomb. Cheeky Nandos in the corner. Miguel with a Poison Rana! Hotch with a Poison Rana! Hotch with the Twisting Rack Bomb for a two! Both men follow the other across the ring, SUPERKICKS are traded! Double kip up, double big boot, ANOTHER double kip-up, but both men collapse to the mat! Trey removes a glove and Hotch removes his tape. Bombs are traded across the way! They move into a hockey fight, but here comes Special Agent Zero to attack both men!
WINNER: No Contest
TIME: 18:15
THOUGHTS: This match built from the ground up and into the perfect main event for a show that sorely needed it. And I’m not even going to penalize the guys here because of the interference because you could see that coming from a million miles away.
RATING: ****1/2

Post-match, Zero lays waste to both Miguel and Hotch. So, 3-way dance at BFG then!

We see Matt Hardy trying to get at Nic Nemeth in the back. Security holds them back, and Santino Marella is here. SONOFAGUN! He says the only way to settle this is for Nemeth to put his World Title on the line against Matt in a No-DQ match. Both men seem fine with this, and with that, we are done!
