Hey kids! Steve Cook here with you for this week’s presentation of WWE Raw on Netflix! Raw is in Dallas this week, so I will have that classic 80s TV show’s theme song in my head for the entirety of this review. It’s one of the best, I can’t help it. Tonight we’ve got some big returns to the show, as Roman Reigns will open the show after his appearance at the end of last week’s episode and CM Punk will take some time off from supporting Danielle Fishel at Dancing With The Stars and grace us with his presence. Is she still alive on that show? As much as I still love Topanga after all these years I have a duty to be here and review this show instead of that show. Honestly, I should probably hate Topanga because her lifelong relationship with Cory totally warped my opinion of what a relationship should be, and that misguided belief caused suffering that exists for me to this day. NEVERTHELESS, this show should be a good time!

(I mean, it was either a Cory/Topanga rant or a Jordana Brewster shoutout that was going there. Jordana’s married, so Cory/Topanga it was.)

If you’d like to chime in with your own thoughts on tonight’s show, feel free to join your fellow 411 Maniacs down in the comment section! As the legendary Larry Csonka always said: Have fun and don’t be a dick. When I’m not here you can catch me on the social media from time to time.

Then. Now. Forever. Together!

We pan over the Dallas crowd before going back to last week, when Roman Reigns helped the Usos defeat the Brons.

The fans are already singing, and Roman Reigns’ music hits. Joe Tessitore & Wade Barrett are at ringside for the proceedings. This felt like a shorter entrance than usual. Roman asks Dallas to acknowledge him. Then the Brons music hits, and here comes Bronson Reed with Paul Heyman. Roman asks if they’re going to say something. Paul doesn’t know who’s been wise manning Roman about public speaking, but he ruined the entire schitick, so Paul will now run through his spiel about acknowledging the Tribal Thief, and tells Roman to acknowledge the one man he fears in his heart, Bronson Reed. Roman should fear Bronson, not once in his life has he been beaten to a degree that he needed a stretcher. Not at Georgia Tech, not at the family barbecues, or in his entire career with WWE. Bronson takes the microphone and tells Roman to listen to him. Roman’s father Sika was never stretchered out. His uncle was never stretchered out. How do they feel looking down on him getting stretchered out? Roman says that Bronson didn’t know them, the dumbass next to him did. What would his dad say right now? His dad would say “fight them now”, so let’s do this now! Paul tells Bronson it’s a trap, and to do it on his own schedule. Roman says Paul’s words are the words of a coward. Roman is levels above Bronson. It’ll be his time no matter the place, however he wants to do it, he’ll always be Bronson’s Tribal Chief. Paul says the match will be at Crown Jewel in a match that Bronson Reed has never been defeated in, that he was so dominant in that WWE recruited him to the main roster. It’ll be an Australian Street Fight! Roman accepts. Paul says good night and walks off. Roman tells Dallas they walked in like tough guys, but are walking out like a couple of bitches.

That sends Bronson down to the ring, and the fight begins! Bronson tosses Roman to the floor, Roman hits him with a Superman punch that sends him to the timekeeper’s area. Roman sets up the announce table, then all the security guards and officials come on down. They don’t do too much to stop things though, Roman hits another Superman Punch. Roman mounts the turnbuckle and points to the sky as his music hits.

CM Punk is WALKING. Lyra Valkyria is WEARING SUNGLASSES INDOORS. IYO SKY is WALKING WITH SUNGLASSES ON TOP OF HER HEAD. We go to last week when the Kabuki Warriors misted IYO and the match was made for Crown Jewel.

Asuka tells Adam Pearce to make a match between IYO & Kairi tonight. Pearce mentions Rhea is already in Australia. Kairi appears and Asuka lets her know about the planned match for tonight. Kairi doesn’t want to fight her, she can still bring her back to the family. Asuka slaps Kairi and tells her the match is happening. Kairi is told she better win, and then Asuka yells at her after she leaves the frame.

Non-Title Match: Becky Lynch vs. Maxxine Dupri: We see Becky slapping Akira Tozawa around last week after Maxxine brought AJ Lee up for no reason. Tieup leads into the corner. Maxxine with an arm drag. Becky pulls her down by the hair and takes her down. Shoulderblock by Lynch. Some slaps by Lynch, Dupri slaps her, Lynch with a clothesline. Becky with some kicks in the corner. Becky misses in the corner, Maxxine with the Thesz press and the ground and pound. Dropkick hits Becky’s knee and she rolls outside. Maxxine hits Becky off the apron, but then gets sent into the barricade. Bexploder sends Maxxine into the barricade and we go to commercial.

Both women down in the ring as we return. Maxxine & Becky trade strikes. Becky runs into a high knee, then some clotheslines and a big kick by Maxxine. Seaman’s suplex, then a kip up by Maxxine. Becky blocks the kick, Maxxine takes her down and gets an ankle lock. Becky kicks her into the corner. Knee in the corner by Lynch. Becky with some mounted punches in the corner, Maxxine turns it into a sitout powerbomb for two. Back on the turnbuckle, Becky hits a superplex for two. Cross armbreaker by Becky, turned into a pin cover for two, and Maxxine goes back to the ankle lock. Becky rolls through for a nearfall. Manhandle Slam blocked, German suplex and a spin kick by Maxxine gets a very close two count. Maxxine up top, cross body rolled through, Becky gets two with the handful of tights. Maxxine uses the ropes for a two count. Big boot by Becky, Maxxine gets sent outside. Maxxine sent head first into the announce table, then into the apron & barricade. Becky gives the referee a talking to, then goes back outside and bounces Maxxine’s head off the steps. Ha, Becky hits her with the stupid energy drink bottle gimmick! Maxxine sent back into the announce table. Becky talks shit to the crowd while standing on the table, Maxxine rolls back in and Becky gets counted out! What an idiot!

Winner: Maxxine Dupri (10:33 shown via countout)

Maxxine celebrates on the stage while Becky wonders what happened.

Roman Reigns meets up with Jimmy & Jey Uso backstage. Jimmy can’t believe they talked about Afa & Sika like that. Jey says he has Roman’s back, but Roman doesn’t want his help. He wants Jey to focus on himself. Roman asks who’s talking at the top of the hour, Jey says it’s CM Punk. Roman is like “Not you, right?” Jey walks off. Roman tells Jimmy he sees and hears everything, and wonders what Jimmy’s problem is with Jey taking advice from him.

Bayley wants to be ringside for Lyra Valkyria’s upcoming match, Lyra’s ok with it. They work on their handshake, still needs some work.

Lyra Valkyria (w/Bayley) vs. Roxanne Perez (w/Raquel Rodriguez): When’s the last time Roxanne got to have a non-commercial entrance? Headlock takeover by Lyra, headscissors by Roxanne, they keep fighting on the mat. Slap by Perez. Lyra drives her into the corner with shoulderblocks. Roxanne fights back, takes Lyra down by her hair, Lyra takes Roxanne down, works the arm, Cartwheel and a sweep by Lyra gets two. Lyra runs into knees in the corner, Roxanne hits some knees to Lyra’s back. Now she works Lyra’s arm and bends it against the bottom turnbuckle. Lyra gets snapped to the floor as we go to commercial.

Roxanne still working that left arm as we return. German suplex by Lyra. Bayley leads a Woo chant for Lyra. Lyra with some clotheslines with the right arm, Northern Lights rollthrough then a fisherman buster for two. Nightwing gets rolled through by Perez. Lyra tries to go up top but Raquel distracts the referee and her. Bayley intervenes and knocks Roxanne to the mat, moonsault gets two for Lyra. Bayley gets booted on the floor by Raquel. Raquel gets kicked down by Lyra, Roxanne hits a tornado DDT on the floor. Pop Rox gets the win for Roxanne!

Winner: Roxanne Perez (6:25 shown via pinfall)

Bayley is not happy and tells Lyra to go get them. Bayley drags Lyra backstage.

Joe & Wade tell us about Raw starting at 8 AM Eastern next Monday before we see a video package about the John Cena/AJ Styles rivalry.

JACKIE REDMOND is with AJ Styles to talk about his upcoming match with Cena. Before AJ can say anything, The Judgment Day men come up and interrupt. Dominik Mysterio mentions he’s still the double champion. Finn Balor talks about how AJ & Dragon Lee want to challenge for the tag titles and how they shouldn’t bother. AJ says he’ll talk to Adam Pearce and get a six-man tag team match booked for tonight. Judgment Day seems unconcerned about who the opponent that isn’t AJ Styles or Dragon Lee will be.

Rusev is yelling at Adam Pearce while CM Punk walks backstage. Punk will talk to us next!

Penta is WALKING and meets up with AJ Styles & Dragon Lee. AJ makes the offer to Penta to tag with them, but we get interrupted by a brawl between Bayley/Lyra & Raquel/Roxanne. Adam Pearce yells while Joe Tess worries about his health.

Three bullriders and a couple of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are at ringside.

LIKE MUSSOLINI! CM Punk marches down to the ring. Punk sings a song and thanks the fans for welcoming his wife back. He talks about Saturday’s event in Perth, and mentions he promised Cody Rhodes that he’d keep his nose out of his business. He’s also been celebrating with his wife since they beat Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza. He beat Rollins on the first Raw this year, and he’ll end this year beating Rollins on Netflix. He says that he’s earned a title shot against Rollins because he’s got his number and he’s better than Seth and everybody knows it. He’ll become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

LA Knight’s music hits! Punk is outraged that somebody would interrupt his interview time. Knight wants us to let him talk to us. He tells Punk to look in his eyes and ask what he sees. The man that interrupted Punk is a big force who blew the doors off the place and still hasn’t gotten what he deserves and earned, his reign as World Champion. Knight wants to point out a couple of omissions. Punk created the pipe bomb, but he’s been more known for being a husband lately. Everyone out here wants & needs love. He commends Punk for cultivating that. As good a husband as Punk seems to be, he’s a trash champion. Five minutes as World Champion? Seth pinned his shoulders in the middle of the ring. Seth pinned him at Clash in Paris. Seth has not pinned LA’s shoulders to the mat. While Punk’s a two-time loser, he’s a two-time winner. One of those was a DQ that Punk caused, but Knight was the last man to beat Seth and he’ll be the next man to beat Seth.

Jey Uso’s music hits, and he’s using the entranceway so you know he’s serious. Jey’s finally thinking clear. He’s the one that never got his rematch for the championship, and he’s the one that’s up next. Knight is tired of Jey’s complaining, he had the title and lost it. While they think it’s their time, it’s his time YEAH. Jey isn’t Roman, he won’t be Roman, that’s a good thing. He suggests Jey should think about the tag team titles, but he sucked at being a tag team last week. This brings Jimmy down, and Jey superkicks Knight. Punk thinks they’re cool, but wants Jey to get in line behind him. Punk thinks the Usos should focus on being a tag team. He likes Jey, not Little Roman. Jimmy tries to keep the peace between Jey & Punk, Punk ends up hitting the first shot after shoving Jimmy out of the way. Jimmy superkicks Punk!

IYO SKY blames Asuka for their problems. Asuka broks her heart. She admits Kairi & her are in WWE because of Asuka, and she wanted to be like her. Asuka’s jealousy and disrespect changed everything. Asuka isn’t the only reason she became a champion. Rhea was right. Asuka wants what’s best for her. A real family member wouldn’t tell her who to be friends with and take credit for her accomplishments. They aren’t family anymore. Asuka isn’t ready for IYO.

A match has been made tonight between the Usos & the tag team of CM Punk & LA Knight that I’m sure will get along well and have no issues.

IYO SKY vs. Kairi Sane (w/Asuka): IYO dives onto Asuka before the bell rings! Asuka sends Kairi into the ring and Kairi clubbers away on IYO. Kairi goes up top, IYO evades a dive. IYO flips out of a flying headscissors. Both women try a dropkick. Asuka gives some orders to Kairi. IYO with a dropkick, Kairi to the floor. Asai moonsault by IYO! We go to commercial!

Kairi with the upper hand as we return. Kairi with the ol reverse headscissors against the ropes. Flying forearm gets two for Kairi, as we see IYO getting Alabama slammed against the apron during the commercial. IYO fights back as the fireflies are out in Dallas. Some palm strikes by IYO. IYO goes to the apron, up top and hits a missile dropkick. IYO hypes the crowd up, but misses a meteora in the corner. Bridging german suplex by IYO gets two. Kairi blocks the double underhook bomb and hits a strike for two. Alabama Slam by Kairi, she goes up top for the Insane Elbow, a moment of regret leads to IYO blocking the move with her feet. Meteora in the corner by IYO, she goes up top but Asuka hits the apron. Kairi gets IYO from behind and rolls her up for three with some help from Asuka!

Winner: Kairi Sane (6:48 shown via pinfall)

Asuka continues the attack afterward and they hit the assisted Insane Elbow. For someone full of regret Kairi sure doesn’t mind cheating to win all that much.

Our look back at the history between Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins continues after Cody tore his pec and won Hell in a Cell. Cody couldn’t do it alone, and Seth points out it’s because Roman Reigns didn’t do it alone. Seth tried to steer clear and let Roman do his thing on SmackDown while he built up the World Championship on Raw. There was no avoiding Roman, he sucked up all the oxygen and his power needed to be checked. Together, they vanquished Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Cody could not be more grateful. Helping Cody cost Seth everything, but he could have lived with it because beating Roman was worth it. Six months later, Cody let Roman back in and teamed with him. Was Seth’s sacrifice all for nothing? Cody claims that personal evolution is for everyone, and thought Seth could see that enemies could be allies. Seth sees that Cody isn’t fit to lead the company and make the decisions to ensure its future. Cody sees Seth cribbing plays from the past and acting like he’s better than everyone else. The score is still 3-0. Seth that WWE needs a vision, and Cody will see what happens when you stand in front of his vision. Cody says Seth can bring everything and everyone he has and it won’t be enough.

Becky is complaining about the referee while Seth & Paul observe her breakdown. Becky says she won’t go to Perth and wants WWE to get better referees. Seth tells Paul that he has to win on Saturday. Paul insists he will, but Seth asks what if he doesn’t. Paul sees that as impossible. Paul tells Seth that he’ll lose the locker room and the faith of Bron & Bronson. He’ll become nothing more than a de facto wannabe secondary champion. Paul tells Seth to do himself a favor and not lose. Seth notices that Paul didn’t mention himself, and asks what happens if he loses. Paul says he’ll have to ask himself why he picked Seth over Roman Reigns.

Jey is yelling about the recent events and asks Jimmy why he was out there. Jey’s trying to get the World Championship, and he asks Jimmy why he’s trying to protect Punk. Who’s side is he on? Jimmy says he’s on Jey’s side, always has been. However, he sees Roman pulling the strings and messing with his head. Jimmy says he’s not like Roman, and Jey is nothing like him. Roman says that when Jey won that World Championship he became more like Roman and less like Jimmy. If Jimmy really wants to help his brother, he should get out of his way.

Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh vs. AJ Styles, Dragon Lee & Penta: AJ still wants to say something, but the Judgment Day team just won’t let that happen before they enter. Styles & Balor start things off. Joe Tess can’t tell AJ Styles & AJ Lee apart, happens to all of us. Judgment Day gets sent outside, so all three opponents hit dives. Penta, Styles & Dragon strut as we go to commercial.

The camera comes down the entranceway while Penta hits the corner handstand kick to JD. AJ gets a two count off that. Dragon screw in the corner by Dragon Lee. Dropkick in the corner on JD gets two. JD fights back though, with a dropkick to a flying Dragon. Dom tags in, hits a spinning elbow on Dragon. Some punches by Dom while the female fans sing for him. Dom goes for the three amigos, gets two before a small package by Dragon gets two. Tag to JD, tag to Finn, tag to Dom as they work Dragon over. JD gets a two count. Some posing in the corner as we go to commercial.

Dragon still getting beat up as we return. He hits a sitout powerbomb on Dom. Penta gets the tag and hits a quick rana on JD. Takes Dom down, hits Finn, double DDT on Finn & JD. Penta runs into a Spanish Fly by JD. Tags to Styles & Dom. Clothesline in the corner, spinning rack bomb by Styles gets two. JD made the save, he gets sent outside. Penta sends Finn outside and dives onto him. Dom hot shots AJ, then sets him up for the 619. Dom doesn’t do it since he gets distracted by a charging Rusev. Rusev almost gets Dom before Penta accidentally superkicks him. Dom runs off, leaving JD to get Styles Clashed for the three count.

Winners: AJ Styles, Dragon Lee & Penta (8:29 shown via pinfall)

AJ still wants to talk and mounts the announce table. AJ says his match with Cena doesn’t need a story, it writes itself. Two guys going at it one last time. They’ll leave it all in the ring, and it will kick ass.

Joe & Wade hype Crown Jewel before we go backstage to Punk & Knight. Neither of them want this match, but they gotta do it anyway. Knight tells Punk not to get pinned.

Next week: Dom vs. Penta for the IC title! Bayley & Lyra vs. Roxanne & Raquel! It’s at 8 AM my time, so it’ll be a little Breakfast with Raw!

CM Punk & LA Knight vs. Jimmy & Jey Uso: Time to yeet! Punk & Knight run in the ring right away and attack the Usos. Knight & Jey are the two legal men to start, Knight stomps Jey down in the corner. Panic Attack in the corner by Knight, Punk tags himself in. Punk works Jey’s arm, then chops Knight for a tag. Jey punches Knight and tags in Jimmy, who eats a hip toss. LA & Jimmy exchange shots. LA turns a suplex into a neckbreaker. Jimmy runs into a boot, but Jey kicks Knight in the back of the head. Jey tags in and punches Knight on the outside. He sends Knight into the steps and we go to commercial!

Knight still getting worked over as we return. Jimmy splashes Knight in the corner. Modified Vegomatic by the Usos. Jey hits the running hip attack on Knight. Jey misses a second one, then Knight hits the jumping neckbreaker. Tags to Punk & Jimmy. Punk with a clothesline, leg lariat and then a high knee in the corner. Punk up top, hits the awkward elbow before taking his shirt off. GTS? Nah, Jimmy elbows out and hits a superkick. Jey tags in, hits the Uso Splash for two. Knight makes the save there. Jimmy sends Knight into Jey, Knight BFTs Jimmy. Jey superkicks Knight. Punk rolls Jey up for two. Jey spears Punk, knocks Knight off the apron, Punk gives him the GTS! Knight tags in and gets the three count!

Winners: CM Punk & LA Knight (6:59 shown via pinfall)

Knight backs up the entranceway all happy while Punk looks displeased and Jey lies flat on his back. YEAH! Our live event has ended.
