Jon Moxley Vs. Shelton Benjamin Continental Title Eliminator Made Official For 1/7 AEW Dynamite

AEW President Tony Khan has made a major match official for next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, with Jon Moxley set to take on The Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin next Wednesday.

On Dynamite: New Year’s Smash, Jon Moxley defeated Josh Alexander via submission in a Continental Classic Eliminator bout. Immediately after his victory, Shelton Benjamin came out alongside MVP, seemingly setting his sights on the newly crowned AEW Continental Champion. Moxley briefly stared at him before hobbling off from the crowd.

Following that, Moxley sent a message to Benjamin in a backstage promo alongside The Death Riders.

Tony Khan then took to X to make the Continental Classic Eliminator match between Jon Moxley and Shelton Benjamin for the first Dynamite of 2026. Veteran commentator Jim Ross will be in the house next Wednesday.

Next week’s AEW Dynamite will emanate from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Two matches have been made official for the event thus far.
