During a recent edition of Talk’n Shop, former WWE Superstar Karl Anderson recounted to Doc Gallows a story of getting heat in WWE over his match with Andrade on WWE Speed, which took place in 2024. According to Anderson, WWE producer Nick Aldis relayed to him that management wanted it to be “the fastest match ever.”
However, Anderson recalled that Andrade wasn’t into the match and didn’t want to do it. He then had Andrade finish and pin him in less than a minute, but Anderson claims he was the one who got heat with management over it.
Karl Anderson reflected on the situation (via Fightful), “Yeah, I got heat in WWE too because they told me they wanted to do Andrade (El Idolo) versus me and Andrade didn’t wanna do the match at all, and then me versus Andrade because he had to work on SmackDown, we had to do a Speed match and they said — Nick Aldis, true or not, I don’t know — but he goes, ‘They said they want this to be the fastest match ever.'”
Anderson continued, “I said, ‘Great.’ I could tell Andrade did not wanna do it. I said, ‘Hit me and finish me,’ and one, two, three, and I swear, I just felt like they were looking at me–” Gallows interjected, “Then they acted like you were a dick for it.” Anderson then responded, “I thought I was helping the situation.”
The Good Brothers (formerly The OC) were released by WWE again in February 2025. Andrade departed from WWE later in the year, eventually returning to AEW.
