Kevin Knight could be receiving a greater push in AEW very soon, according to a new report. A new report from Fightful Select cites sources as indicating that Knight has been talked about for an advanced push within the company.
According to the report, sources in AEW have said that Knight was discussed to receive a shot at the AEW World Championship. Those reports say that Knight getting such a title shot at AEW Redemption later this month isn’t “completely off the table.” Knight is the current AEW TNT Champion, having laid claim to the then-vacant title during a Casino Gauntlet match at AEW Dynasty on April 12th. The title was vacated by an injured Kyle Fletcher, who is now Knight’s stablemate in the Don Callis Family and the new AEW International Champion.
Kevin Knight has been featured on AEW TV as he calls for a World Championship match. He previously battled MJF for the title back in March. The report also notes that there have been rumblings of Knight being planned for feuds with other “world-level talent,” though exactly who was not revealed.
Kenny Omega captured the AEW World Championship on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, and will have a championship celebration segment on this week’s show. He is a longstanding enemy of the Don Callis Family after Callis turned on him back in May of 2023.
