Kevin Knight recently looked back on his World Title match with Kenny Omega at AEW Redemption and the pressure he felt going into it. Knight challenged Omega for the AEW World Title in the main event of the July PPV. Omega came away with the win, but Knight told Fightful’s Shirleigh ahead of AEW All In that he felt he proved himself to people in the bout.
Knight was asked about the pressure he feels heading into matches and said that he had a lot of it bearing down at Redemption, but that he feels elevated by the weight of expectations.
“I feel the pressure all day every day but you know, that’s what I signed up for,” Knight said. “And pressure is a privilege and the pressure makes diamonds. I had a lot of pressure going into the last pay-per-view against Kenny Omega.”
He continued, “Although I didn’t come out with the win, although I didn’t become Jet 2 Belts, I feel like I proved to the people that I am a future main eventer and that they will see that so, the pressure just makes me elevate even more.”
Knight will defend the AEW TNT Championship against Darby Allin at AEW All In in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
