Kevin Knight remains the AEW TNT Champion, defeating Darby Allin on this week’s AEW Dynamite to retain his title. Wednesday night’s show pitted Allin against Knight in the opening contest, with the latter’s championship on the line.
The bout went almost 11 and a half minutes as the two traded high impact offense and nearfalls. Toward the end of the match, Allin was setting up for the Scorpion Death Drop when Knight shoved him off and sent him into the referee. The ref went to the floor and was down as Knight went for his title belt but then finally ate a Scorpion Death Drop.
Allin went up top for the Coffin Drop but Knight was able to recover and hit him with the title on the back of the head. Allin ended up in the Tree of Woe, and Knight hit a Coast to Coast before pulling the ref intot he ring and hitting the UFO Splash for the win.
You can see clips from the match below. Knight, who is set to challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at AEW Redemption, has been TNT Champion for 101 days. He won the vacant title at AEW Dynasty in the Casino Gauntlet match.
