Latest On Anthony Bowens’ AEW Status

Anthony Bowens’ AEW contract was reportedly up in October, and a new report has a minor update on his status. As reported in late September, Bowens’ and Max Caster’s contracts were set to expire at the end of the month, with negotiations not having begun at the time of that report. We now know that Caster has exited AEW, but there had not yet been an update on Bowens.
Sean Ross Sapp gave a couple of small details on Bowens in response to fan questions during the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A. He noted that there has been no word on plans for the Opps regarding Bowens, though he was still around the week of the PAC tribute episode of AEW Dynamite. Bowens is still also listed on the AEW roster page, while Caster has been removed.
Sapp speculates that based on the above, there is probably at least some interest in AEW in retaining Bowens, which he wouldn’t count out as a possibility. Sapp also noted that he has not heard of any interest in Bowens from TNA but said if he ends up becoming a free agent, such interest would be likely.
Bowens has not yet commented on his potential future in or out of AEW. He has stayed active on social media and was in attendance for the Clayface premiere on Tuesday night.
