Latest On Asuka’s Status Ahead of WWE Raw

Asuka’s WWE status has been a hot topic of speculation following WWE Backlash, and a new report has an update on the former Women’s Champion ahead of tonight’s WWE Raw. As noted, there have been conflicting reports of Asuka’s status after she lost to IYO SKY and had an apparent farewell at WWE Backlash, with alternating reports saying that she is “semi-retired” or taking personal time off.

Fightful Select has confirmed a report from PWInsider that Asuka is scheduled for tonight’s show. Fightful also confirmed that the Empress of Tomorrow will be taking some time off. The report does not specify whether tonight’s show will be her last appearance before her time off or not.

The report goes on to note that her time off has been planned “for a while” and is not related to the recent roster cuts, which included Kairi Sane. Sane was a big part of the Asuka vs. SKY feud.

Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw takes place from the Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee and airs live on Netflix. The announced lineup is:
