Latest On Bayley’s WWE Contract Status, Interest From AEW

Bayley’s WWE contract status has been a topic of discussion as of late, and a new report has the latest on her status and potential interest from AEW. As noted earlier today, F4WOnline reported that the WWE star is expected to be under contract until the fourth quarter of the year. The news comes as Bayley seemed to be written off of TV after her loss to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Fightful Select has confirmed that within WWE, the expectation is that Bayley’s deal will come up by the end of the year unless injury time is added on. The report cites sources in the company who said that as of now, she has not signed a new deal. No one in the company would confirm whether or not she is off WWE TV for the immediate future, though her contract status has been a point of discussion both there and in AEW.

The expectation is that WWE will want to re-sign her, though it was added that she will be “in demand” during a period when the company has been making headlines for pushing for salary reductions which has led to people like Sheamus and the New Day exiting the company.

The report goes on to say that the nature of Bayley’s deal has been speculated on within AEW for a while, and the expectation is that AEW would be very interested and make a play for her if she can. Bayley has appeared backstage at several AEW shows as a visitor, but Tony Khan avoids talking with contracted WWE talent when they visit. It was noted that several sources have been discussing the potential for Bayley to jump to AEW for nearly a year.

Fightful spoke with an agent who said they think Bayley should at least reach a negotiation period, and that she will have enough demand from WWE and AEW to potentially “tip the change” in regard to contract terms for many people in WWE. WWE contracts do not have guaranteed years or no-cut deals in them for most people, and the agent said that she could potentially set that standard after the recent restructurings caused people to leave.

The report goes on to say that boith AEW and WWE are likely to offer multi-year, multi million dollar contracts. AEW tends to see deals to their completion more often and also pays travel costs, as well as allowing talent to take outside bookings and signings. A source in the convention world believes she would be very in demand in terms of signings and meet and greets, among the highest so in the last couple of decades.
