Latest Update on Kevin Owens Recovery Time

Back when Kevin Owen first injured his neck in April of 2025, it was considered serious enough that he wasn’t expected to be back in time for WrestleMania this year. However, this past November, he shared a brief video clip of his recovery training.
Fans tend to seize on any detail and imagine the possibilities. So naturally, if he’s training in November, that could mean a return is imminent, right? Not so fast. The Royal Rumble is often an event that highlights surprise debuts and returns, but Owens isn’t likely to be one of them. In a recent Fightful Select Q&A with Sean Ross Sapp, a more realistic scenario is offered.
Qualifying that Owens didn’t even have surgery until July, Sapp says he hasn’t heard anything about Owens doing serious ring training.
He adds: “Nobody in WWE has told me about any plans for him creatively, or discussions about him coming back at this point. I think they’ll wait until he heals and sees where his heart is at after undergoing such a serious injury.”
Anyone hoping for a Jeri-KO reunion in WWE had clearly best check their expectations. While Chris Jericho’s status remains a mystery, he’s likely to be back — in WWE or elsewhere, but probably WWE — significantly before Owens.
Owens has become a top wrestler in WWE since signing with them back in 2014 and has had memorable programs in the past with Shane McMahon, John Cena, Steve Austin, and Sami Zayn.
