Big Cass vs. Brooks Jensen

-Good on Brooks for getting a Main Event shot. He has been a joy on Evolve since the switch to his old school southern territory wrestling gimmick and had a fun rivalry with Elijah Holyfield. With that said, Cass should realistically steamroll him here, but this is Main Event. If it was RAW, this would be a total SQUASH. Here, they may want to see something from Brooks. This is the first time for Cass on Main Event in nine years. Brooks is in wrestling trunks instead of his torn jeans look. This was taped before RAW this past week in Bama, so I can see why Brooks is here as he is from Bama. Saxton notes that Brooks won a State Championship in this building six years okay. Good for Brooks! Lockup and Cass backs Brooks into the corner. He misses a heavy punch and Brooks fires away. Cass just gets angry, but Brooks sticks and moves. I always forget that Brooks is the son of Bull Buchanan. Cass catches Brooks and throws him across the ring. He throws punches in bunches as the crowd gets behind Brooks. He dives at Cass, but misses and gets caught up in the ropes. That looked nasty in a good way. Brooks with a heavy clothesline and then drops an Empire Elbow and another one. Splash in the corner followed by a SOS Slam. Another splash in the corner and another SOS Slam. How about a third splash in the corner. The fans in Bama aren’t happy. Cass talks trash and Brooks punches him in the face. Just made Cass mad, but he misses a fourth splash. Brooks with a spinning heel kick to knock Cass off his feet. The crowd is getting into it. Clothesline followed by a dropkick and another. Cass misses a boot and Brooks gets a cross-body for two. Jensen up top, but gets caught with The Big Boot on the way down. Cass gets the pin at 5:20.

Winner: Big Cass via pin at 5:20
-Jensen got more than I thought and it was a perfectly fine wrestling match. **

-Mr T documentary on Netflix. I am sure they cover some of his wrestling career. Wonder if I should recap it?

LWO vs. Viktor Zanov and Shido Ash

-Zanov and Ash were Thatcher’s security on Evolve and are now a tag team. Ash has been part of Season 3 of LFG. Shido starts with Cruz and kicks him in the gut. Cruz floats over in the corner and picks up the pace. He gets a head scissors followed by a dropkick. Tag to Wilde and we get double back elbows. Double team into a splash from Wilde for a one count. Shido goes to the throat and brings in Viktor. He has a judo background and is a former Olympian. Wilde with a head scissors followed by a dropkick. Ash lands a knee from the apron and that lets Viktor hit an overhead suplex. Ash also has a judo background. He is back in and gets a judo throw. Howard notes that Ash and Viktor are former rivals in Judo and Ash has the edge in their meetings. Ash hooks a reverse chinlock but Wilde punches his way out and gets a jawbreaker. No tag though as Zanov is in and cuts him off. Wilde avoids a charge and hot tag to Cruz. He runs wild and snaps off a head scissors on Ash. Running head kick in the corner. Viktor gets dumped to the apron and send to the floor off a springboard dropkick. Ash with a sunset flip, but Cruz rolls through and gets a kick to the face. Quebrada, but Zanov breaks up the pin. Wilde flies in with a rana. Double kick to send Zanov to the floor. Ash is left alone and the LWO finish with a double team move for the pin at 4:43.

Winner: The LWO via pin at 4:43
-Again, just a solid tag match. Ash and Viktor have a different style which isn’t a bad thing as we need different. **

-Thanks for reading!

Two okay matches and we are out for the week. Easy watch, but nothing to go out of your way to see. I do enjoy seeing the Evolve/NXT kids get some main roster shine. Even if it is Main Event.
