Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan suffered an injury scare during her title defense at a WWE European Summer event in Birmingham, West Midlands, England, on Sunday, June 21.
At the event, Liv defended the Women’s World Championship against Lyra Valkyria, IYO SKY, and current Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca in a Fatal Four-Way Match.
Though she won the match, Liv suffered an injury scare when Sol seemingly landed awkwardly on Morgan’s right leg following a Springboard Crossbody attempt. This raised concerns among fans on social media about a potential injury to the champion.
Miscommunication.
Liv was still selling for Lyra and thought they had another spot left. Sol thought it was her cue to come break them up. Thankfully Liv is seemingly okay, but even if she wasn’t there’s no need to attack someone over what is ultimately an accident jfc. pic.twitter.com/deqGTpt5pY

However, in the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR) [via WrestlingNews.co], Dave Meltzer noted that the contact did not appear to be as bad as it initially looked. He noted that Sol landed close to Morgan’s foot as opposed to her knee. Meltzer further revealed that the match official checked on Liv and subsequently raised one fist in the air, which is an indication that the performer is okay to continue wrestling. However, he did note that Morgan limped at times during the remainder of the bout.
Liv and the other King and Queen of the Ring finalists are set to be in attendance at tonight’s WWE RAW. Morgan will take on IYO SKY in the final at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this Saturday. She defeated Charlotte Flair in the semifinals this past Friday night on SmackDown to seal her spot in the summit clash.
You’re welcome Birmingham for blessing you with my presence tonight🤭🙏
Currently running to London because I am the f*cking GOAT 🖕
