Mark Henry says Oba Femi makes him wish he were healthy and young enough for another singles match. The WWE Hall of Famer’s in-ring career ended in 2017.
Henry later made an appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble, but has not pursued another full-time run or a singles return. He worked for AEW as part of the commentary team and as a coach from 2021 to 2024 before returning to WWE in 2025. Since then, Oba Femi’s recent WWE run has caught the 55-year-old’s attention.
Speaking with Sportskeeda, Henry said he has no plans to return to the ring. However, Femi presents a hypothetical challenge that interests him.
“If I was at 100% healthy, maybe 10 years younger, hell I would have loved to come out of retirement and fight Oba Femi. He’s the only one that’s kinda made me feel like ‘Oh man, that would be a challenge.’”
Henry previously considered wrestling Nick Aldis when Aldis was NWA World Champion in 2019. He ultimately decided against the match.
“No not at all. I thought about wrestling Nick Aldis when he was NWA Champion in [20]19. But I decided on not doing it. I retired–I retired. I feel like I had done everything there was to do. I got old and the last thing–I was already hurt. I had problems with my back and my legs and I just wanted to get away from being in the ring,”
Mark Henry has previously compared Femi’s potential career to those of Brock Lesnar, Ric Flair, and Andre the Giant. Femi is scheduled to face Bron Breakker at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
