Mascara Dorada Reflects On Competing In AEW Continental Classic 2025

Mascara Dorada’s AEW Continental Classic campaign came to a close last night on Christmas Collision, as he lost to Konosuke Takeshita in his final round robin match.
The closing moments of what was a back-and-forth match saw Takeshita nail a Lariat on Dorada and follow it up with a Running Knee and then Raging Fire to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
In exclusive footage shared by AEW’s X handle following last night’s Collision, Mascara Dorada gave Konosuke Takeshita his flowers, acknowledging the latter as one of the best in the business. However, Dorada added that he is pleased with how the tournament panned out for him, as he now has a better understanding of “AEW elements.”
“I knew it. I knew very well what I was up against. Today, we fought champion vs. champion, but I accept it; today, you were better than me. Takeshita, you are a great wrestler, but I’m leaving the tournament happy because the same way I lost is the same way I won. I won [sic] some knowledge and experience. Now I have a better understanding of AEW elements. So get ready. You haven’t seen the last of Mascara Dorada,” he said.
