During a recent interview with The Sportster’s Adam Barnard during WWE SummerSlam Weekend, WWE Superstar Matt Cardona spoke about Sheamus being his toughest opponent, Macho Man being his dream matchup, and what he has to do to get his name put in the WWE Title conversation. Below are some highlights:

Matt Cardona on Sheamus Being His Toughest Opponent

“Sheamus would always beat the crap out of me, but I would love beating the crap out of him, too. So, I would I always love his style. You know, he brings it, and so do I. Ask anyone who wrestles Matt Cardona. Ask The Miz. He’ll tell you. I hit hard.”

His Dream Opponent From Any Era

“Macho Man is my dream opponent. Whether it be Babyface, Heel, Macho King, even WCW towards the end, Macho Man. Like, I just love his style. I love his mic work, his ring work. Macho Man was larger than life. So, I’d say him.”

On What He Needs To Do To Get His Name in the WWE Title Conversation

“You know, like, re-signing here, I knew it was going to be an uphill battle because the landscape, especially at the top, it’s stacked. You know, the roster is so there there’s no there’s no weak spots. The top guys: Cody [Rhodes], [CM] Punk, Seth [Rollins], Roman [Reigns] – the list goes on and on. And then the young up-and-comers, Je’Von [Evans], you know, Oba [Femi], Trick [Williams], Carmelo [Hayes], but then everyone in between is talented, too. So, I got to figure out a way. And I’ve done it before, and I intend on doing it again.”

Matt Cardona last wrestled on TV on the July 16 edition of WWE Main Event, losing to Ricky Saints.
