Jeff Hardy could be taking a bit of time off in order to deal with his neck injury, according to Matt Hardy. Jeff has been working with a neck injury since October of last year, having suffered it during The Hardy’s NXT Tag Team Championship loss to DarkState at Halloween Havoc. He has been working through the injury, which he described as “two bulging discs on the left side of my neck.”

Matt gave the update on the latest episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast when talking about a potential character change for himself. You can see the highlights below (per Fightful):

On a Potential Character Change:

“It’s gonna be interesting to see what my next character is, especially if Jeff takes a little time off to try and work on his neck a little bit. That may be happening, I guess we’ll see.”

On Jeff’s High-Risk Style:

“Well yeah, you know, it’s not necessarily that. Just that nagging, it’s been a year now since he had this bulging disc, which has been bugging him. He’s going to — I think he’s done everything he can do in his power, I think he’s maybe gonna take some time off to get it fixed up and correct it as much as possible.”

No word on when Jeff may start his time off if it happens, nor how long he might be off TV.
