Matt Menard Gives Intense Thanksgiving Promo Following Collision
AEW’s special Thanksgiving episode of Collision didn’t give Matt Menard much to be thankful for. In a match that our columnists graded as lackluster, Menard’s former protegee Daniel Garcia beat him with a bulldog choke, as Jon Moxley looked on from commentary.
It doesn’t look like this feud is done, though. Taking to X, Daddy Magic delivered a promo that begins in defeat on the floor, then gradually builds in intensity. Menard seems to build strength as he convinces himself he’s not dead yet — or at least, not buried. Once he has fully psyched himself up, he oddly segues into Thanksgiving wishes, sent out to specific family and friends he mentions by name.
Language is not entirely family friendly, but Menard fans are used to that.

If this means that the feud with Garcia is about to take a darker turn, that could be a good thing. The two competitors are often perceived as comedic, so maybe this ups the emotional stakes. Can the long-running feud really get us emotionally invested? A few more interviews like this, with harder-hitting matches to follow, and that could happen.
Menard recently re-signed with AEW, so he’s certainly not going anywhere.
