As previously reported, the previously scheduled matchup between AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) and TNA Wrestling star Nic Nemeth at CAP Monumental Moment is now off, and it’s been rumored that TNA Wrestling is no longer allowing its talents to wrestle AEW-contracted wrestlers at indie events. During today’s edition of Busted Open Radio, MJF addressed the situation, taking more shots at TNA Wrestling and slamming company president Carlos Silva, calling his decision-making “disgusting.”
MJF said on the situation (via Fightful), “Let’s talk about TNA and the fact that they are pulling young talent off the shows when they are barely paying them any money whatsoever and telling them, ‘Hey, you can’t wrestle because there is a guy from another promotion that is wrestling on this show.'”
The AEW World Champion continued, “Does that help young talent grow? Does that help young talent become better inside the squared circle? Moreover, does that help young talent put food on their plate and table so they can eat? What Carlos Silva is doing is disgusting.” He added, “If anybody supports him or that company at this point, it is very hard for me to wrap my head around.”
As noted, TNA and Carlos Silva issued statements that wrestlers were being pulled from the indie events due to “partner conflicts.”
