Naraku Explains Why He Left NJPW And Joined WWE

Naraku has three simple reasons for why he joined WWE, as he noted in a recent interview. The WWE NXT star, formerly EVIL in NJPW, made his first appearance on the brand on April 28th when he confronted Tony D’Angelo. He picked up his first win on last week’s show.

Naraku and IYO SKY spoke with Tokyo Sport after announcing their marriage on Sunday, and Naraku explained his reasons for leaving NJPW and joining WWE. He noted that he still would have left NJPW whether SKY was in WWE or not and gave a succinct response for why he joined the company. You can see highlights below (per Mera Wrestling):

On Leaving NJPW:

“I’ve already sufficiently made the Japanese pro wrestling world my own, haven’t I? In that sense, wasn’t there a very good chance of that happening?”

On Why He Joined WWE:

“Money, status, and honor.”
