The New Level recently revealed when they officially signed with AEW, and how they’re feeling after their debut. Austin Creed and Kofi made their debut at AEW All In, just slightly under four months after they exited WWE. They won the AEW World Trios Championship along with Swerve Strickland.
The two appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show and spoke about their arrival in the company and more. You can see some highlights below:
Kofi On How He’s Feeling:
“Still on cloud nine, man. Still on cloud nine. Like I said in the press conference, and I’ve been saying all day, it seemed like this weird dream, right? Where you see so many talented individuals who I’ve been watching, many who I hadn’t met. But then you had so many people that we used to work with who were there, both on the roster as well as behind the scenes. And the crew and everybody’s just there having a great time, loving wrestling. Tony Khan’s there, he’s super excited about the show. High energy, positive vibes. It was amazing.
“And it really took a long time. I mean, it probably took until the plane ride home yesterday for it to really settle in. It was such a whirlwind. I mean, you talked about it being the worst-kept secret. But the funny thing is, it didn’t really solidify and become official until less than 24 hours before the show. We didn’t sign until like, less than 24 hours before. So we know what we wanted, we know what everybody else wanted. But it wasn’t officially official until very soon before the kickoff time. So yeah, it was incredible. We’ve wanted to mix it up with all these tag teams for a very, very long time. And to see it all come to fruition, it’s just — like I said, just like a weird
bizarre dream, but the best dream possible.”
Creed On Why It Took So Long To Sign:
“It’s just making sure that everything is copacetic for everybody all the way around. And it was a very, very smooth contract negotiations. But being able to actually get on the plane, go to London, see everybody in person. Because we had video chatted a few times, but being able to sit down in person and actually talk was incredible. So to do it at the same time as signing the contract, it actually worked out pretty well, I would say.”
