NFL Star Ja’Marr Chase Says Touchdown Celebration Was Inspired By The Rock

NFL player Ja’Marr Chase has revealed that his signature touchdown celebration is a move inspired by The Rock. Chase is a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, and when he scored a touchdown he has become known for a celebration that includes holding his elbow and extending his arm out.

Chase appeared on Shannon Sharpe, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Joe Johnson’s Nightcap podcast and during the conversation, Ochocinco questioned whether the move was inspired by Spider-Man.

“No, that’s not Spider-Man,” Chase replied. “That’s the People’s Elbow, bruh. The Rock, from wrestling. He did it differently though, we just added the [arm extension].”

Chase has scored two touchdowns so far early in the new season, helping the Bengals get off to a 2 – 0 start. Meanwhile, The Rock hasn’t been seen in WWE since Elimination Chamber 2025 and is reportedly not expected to be a part of WrestleMania 43.
