Nick Aldis Reinstated Into GM Role On WWE Smackdown

Nick Aldis is off “administrative leave,” as he was reinstated as general manager on this week’s WWE Smackdown. Friday night’s show opened with Aldis appearing in the ring. Aldis announced that he has been reinstated and is once again the General Manager.

Aldis was placed on “leave” after his altercation with Gunther at WWE Night of Champions. An enraged Gunther, having failed to win the Undisputed WWE Championship, walked up to Aldis backstage and yelled at him about being screwed over by Sami Zayn’s addition to the match. He said Aldis was “jealous” of him and the altercation turned briefly physical before it was broken up.

Aldis said on Smackdown that he took full responsibility for the altercation, though he believed his actions were justified. He brought out the new WWE Undisputed Champion in CM Punk to open the show.

During Aldis’ brief leave last week, Adam Pearce served as the general manager of WWE Smackdown.
