NJPW Makes Changes to Sakura Genesis 2026 Card

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced a slight change to the Sakura Genesis 2026 card, with Tiger Mask IV and Master Wato swapping places in their previously scheduled matches.

Initially, Tiger Mask IV was set to team up with Togi Makabe to take on Kosei Fujita and Hartley Jackson. Master Wato has now been announced as his replacement for the bout.

Meanwhile, Tiger Mask IV replaces Master Wato in an eight-man tag team match. He will team up with Aaron Wolf, YOH, and Toru Yano to take on IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion DOUKI, Don Fale, SHO, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

NJPW has made the change to build toward a future IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match between DOUKI and Tiger Mask IV.

The change comes on the heels of Tiger Mask IV challenging DOUKI for the title earlier this week and expressing his desire to retire as champion. He is set to hang up his wrestling boots this July.

NJPW Sakura Genesis 2026 will take place at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, on April 4.
