NJPW Unveils Lineup for G1 Climax 36 Semifinals

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) has unveiled the card for the G1 Climax 36 semifinals.

The prestigious tournament will conclude this weekend, with the iconic Ryogoku Sumo Hall hosting the semifinals on Saturday, August 15.

As noted, Yota Tsuji and Ryohei Oiwa qualified for the semifinals from Block A. Yesterday, Callum Newman and Yuya Uemura joined the two to complete the semifinal lineup. In the first semifinal, Block A leader Tsuji will take on Uemura. The second semifinal will see Block B topper Callum Newman lock horns with Block A runner-up Oiwa.

However, neither of these matches will headline tomorrow’s show. That honor has been reserved for four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroyoshi Tenzan, who will battle his longtime partner Satoshi Kojima in a five-minute exhibition match.

Several multi-man matches, featuring Konosuke Takeshita, Gabe Kidd, Wheeler Yuta, Zack Sabre Jr., and more, have also been announced for tomorrow’s show.
