Note on Individual in AEW Who Advised Ricochet Over Disrespectful Tweet

As previously reported, AEW star and former National Champion, Ricochet, later apologized and deleted a tweet, commenting on a wrestling fan on X having multiple sclerosis. Initially, a fan wrote, “His acting hasn’t improved,” in response to a digital exclusive video where Ricochet freaked out about his title loss. Ricochet later responded, “I’m glad you got MS.”

It was later reported that Ricochet was not told by AEW higher-ups to apologize. Instead, it was reported by Dave Meltzer in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a friend of Ricochet advised him to delete the tweet and apologize, and it was said to have been someone who Ricochet “has great respect for” and a former wrestler who worked with him when they were both part of the indie wrestling scene.

According to an update from Fightful Select, people in AEW informed the outlet that the person who reached out to Ricochet regarding the disrespectful tweet was Chris Hero.

Chris Hero has worked behind-the-scenes as a producer in AEW for several years.
