More On Ricochet’s Apology For Tweet About Fan Having MS

A new report has a bit of additional detail on Ricochet’s apology after his tasteless tweet about a fan having multiple sclerosis. As you likely know, the former AEW National Champion opened up a storm when he made an ill-advised response to a fan who criticized his acting in an AEW Revolution segment. The fan wrote about a digital exclusive in which Ricochet freaked out about his title loss, “His acting hasn’t improved” to which he replied, “I’m glad you got MS.”
Ricochet doubled down initially, pointing to the number of hateful things said to him and his wife Samantha Irvin on social media but saying that can’t take it back, ending with “F**king pussies, everywhere.” But the next day he issued an apology, writing:
“I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize. Moving forward I’ll do better.”
It was reported on Thursday that Ricochet was not told by AEW to apologize, something that Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp also reported. Dave Meltzer noted that one of Ricochet’s friends advised him that he should probably take the tweet down. He has added a touch more detail in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that it was someone he “has great respect for” and is a former wrestler who he worked with when both were on the independent scene.
Irvin has deleted her Twitter account after being dogpiled by people on Twitter over Ricochet’s tweet. She shared pics to her Instagram stories of people sending her explicit death threats and more on that platform.
Sandi, the original Twitter user who Ricochet responded to, locked her Twitter soon after Ricochet’s comment due to threats and harassment sent her way. She has not unlocked it as of yet.
