Note on MJF Possibly Defending AEW World Title Against Kenny Omega at Redemption

As noted previously, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is set to present a brand-new pay-per-view this July.
Titled ‘AEW Redemption,’ its first iteration will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on Sunday, July 26.
In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Dave Meltzer delved into Kenny Omega possibly challenging Maxwell Jacob Friedman and beating him for the AEW World Title in front of home fans and then losing to Will Ospreay in a “passing of the torch” moment at All In: London. According to him, this would still leave MJF (and even Darby Allin) with an opportunity to go after the title, as Ospreay didn’t beat either man.
Meltzer believes that if Omega does go on to face MJF at Redemption, it could lead to a return of former AEW World Champion Hangman Page, who may help The Cleaner upstage Friedman.
Page has been away from AEW TV since losing the Texas Death Match to MJF and the opportunity to challenge for the World Title in the future at Revolution 2026. Friedman regained the title from Darby Allin at last weekend’s Double or Nothing after losing it to the face-painted wrestler last month.
