Note On Possible WWE Plans For Dragon Lee Angle

Dragon Lee’s unmasking on WWE Raw caused a lot of discussion online, and a new report has some details on how WWE may use it. Lee battled Gunther on Monday night’s show, and the match ended with Gunther removing Dragon Lee’s mask while Lee was in a sleeper hold. The moment caught plenty of attention because the camera angle specifically caught Lee’s face, making it a true unmasking.
Fightful Select notes that WWE sources emphasized to them that the controversy around the unmasking could be used in order to further the angle, referencing how strongly people reacted to the matter online. The report goes on to say that WWE sources reiterated to them throughout the past week that the camera angle used was not an accidental one — i.e., they wanted to capture that particular moment.
The report adds that there have been no complaints from anyone involved in the angle, and that if WWE didn’t do anything to be seen, they could have easily edited it for socials, which they did not.
There’s no word on the specific direction planned for the angle at this time, just that WWE is moving forward with it and that they could lean in to the online reaction to it.
