Note on Why Chad Gable Beat CM Punk at a WWE House Show Last Week

As previously reported, Chad Gable and CM Punk faced off for the first time at a non-televised WWE live event on Thursday (Oct. 29) in Youngstown, Ohio. Gable pulled off a shocking upset over CM Punk.

Fightful Select has more details on the decisions. The recent instance of Chad Gable beating CM Punk and the Halloween-themed matches were part of an effort by WWE to get viral moments or buzzworthy items from recent live events.

Punk’s loss to Chad Gable at a live event comes not long after Stephanie Vaquer beat Liv Morgan to win the Women’s World Title on September 12 at a WWE live show in Santiago, Chile.
