Oba Femi is set to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, a match that he says will be “a great thing” for his legacy. Femi accepted Lesnar’s open challenge on this week’s WWE Raw in a definitive way, coming out to confront Lesnar and hit him with the Fall From Grace. WWE has since confirmed the match is official for the two-night PLE.

In an interview conducted before Monday, Femi was asked by SHAK Wrestling about the notion of battling Lesnar at WrestleMania. He spoke about his approach when he faced off with big names like The Beast and what the then-potential match will do for both him and Lesnar. You can see highlights below:

On What Goes Through His Mind Facing Off With Lesnar:

“I think the key thing in such moments is to remind yourself that you belong. Because a lot of people get called up or they they join the industry, and they still see the top guys as just these stars that are bigger than them. And they still see themselves as fans. After a while, you have to get rid of that. That has to go out the door, and that has been out the door for years when it comes to me.

“As soon as I signed my NXT contract, I was under the impression that these guys are my equals. My heroes will be my rivals, and I made that a statement. And I think that came to fruition when I stood across from Brock at the Royal Rumble.”

On Facing Lesnar at WrestleMania:

“For me legacy-wise, it’ll be a great thing for me. I think Brock also, he knows that there’s a new kid on the block. And the old guard is always going to want to not want the new guard to come up. So, there’s definitely something there.”
