Oba Femi Beats Brock Lesnar Inside Hell in a Cell at WWE SummerSlam: Night One, Lesnar Hugs Femi Post-Match

Oba Femi slayed The Beast Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell, securing the rubber victory over the former UFC Heavyweight Champion in the main event of WWE SummerSlam: Minnesota Night One.

As has been the case with their previous two matches, The Ruler continued to surprise Brock with his sheer strength time and again. In the early stages of the match, Lesnar hit Femi with three German Suplexes, only for Oba to bounce back to his feet like nothing had happened.

The action spiraled onto the ringside, where the two drove each other into the steel steps, before Oba countered a Suplex attempt with one of his own. He brought out a table and placed it against the cell, driving Lesnar shoulder-first into the steel. Femi then introduced steel chairs to the proceedings, but Brock countered that with three steel step attacks. He hit two more Germans, including one on a steel chair, before attempting his first F-5 of the night.

However, Oba countered it with a massive Chokeslam. After recovering from back-to-back running elbows, Lesnar went for another F-5 attempt. But once again, Oba responded with a Chokeslam. Oba tossed Brock across the ring and followed it up with the Fall from Grace, but this time, Lesnar kicked out.

Lesnar finally nailed the F-5 and followed it up with two more, but that still couldn’t get the job done. An irate Lesnar tore apart the ring mat and exposed the wooden part. The Beast hoisted Oba on his shoulders for what looked like another F-5, but he channeled his inner Undertaker and executed the Tombstone Piledriver on the exposed part. However, Oba refused to stay down.

He blocked a chair shot attempt from Lesnar with bare hands and planted his opponent with another Fall from Grace to capture the historic victory. After the match, Brock removed his gloves and extended a handshake toward Oba and then hugged him, with the latter reciprocating in equal measure. Lesnar grabbed a microphone and acknowledged Femi as the future of WWE and raised his hand in the air to close out the show.
