As previously reported, Pat McAfee declared that if Randy Orton failed to win the WWE Undisputed Title last night at WrestleMania, he would “never come back” to wrestling. Well, in the main event of WrestleMania 42: Saturday, Cody Rhodes defeated Orton to retain the title, meaning by McAfee’s own words, he must leave WWE and pro wrestling forever. Based on an Instagram story McAfee shared earlier today, it now appears he’s “completely out of the wrestling business.”

McAfee shared a photo, showing him laying in bed with a neck brace, still selling the effects of his injuries at the hands of Cody Rhodes and Jelly Roll in the main event at last night’s WrestleMania 42 Saturday. The caption reads, “The first morning since 2017 that babe is completely out of the wrestling business. Thanks Jelly Roll.”

McAfee attempted to help Orton win the title. He came out late in the match with a referee’s outfit, and Orton attempted to pin Cody with McAfee’s help. However, Cody Rhodes kicked out. It’s unknown why McAfee acknowledged the kick out and didn’t simply count anyway, considering that was his entire goal, and he’s not a legitimate referee.

Due to his failure, McAfee was punished by his chosen champion, Orton, who hit McAfee with an RKO after the match. It’s also unknown if McAfee is genuinely serious being completely out of the wrestling business, or if this is merely another ruse.
