Prime Video’s American Gladiators relaunch stars a number of wrestling personalities, and the premiere date is officially set. Prime Video announced on Wednesday that the reboot of the competition series will premiere on April 17th on the service. The premiere date will see three episodes launch, followed by three more on April 24th and the final four on May 1st.
The series filmed last year and is hosted by The Miz with Wardlow, Kamille, Eric Bugenhagen (Rick Boogs), Jessie Godderz, and Jessica Roden (J-Rod) in the cast.
The series, the latest in the Gladiators franchise that began in 1989, is described as follows:
Each episode of the fan-favorite competition features amateur male and female Contenders from across the nation stepping into the Arena to face 16 powerful new American Gladiators. From classic events like Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough, and The Wall, to high-impact new events including The Ring and Collision, every showdown demands strength, strategy, and pure grit. Only one man and one woman will conquer the Arena, claim $100,000, and earn the title of American Gladiator Champion.
The new show is created and executive produced by Johnny C. Ferraro. Daniel Calin serves as series showrunner and executive producer along with Barry Poznick.
