Randy Orton & Pat McAfee Take Out Cody Rhodes, Jelly Roll In WWE Smackdown Segment

Randy Orton and Pat McAfee got the best of both Cody Rhodes and Jelly Roll on this week’s WWE Smackdown, leaving them both downed in the ringside area. Friday night’s show featured Rhodes coming down to confront McAfee mid-promo, which led to Orton getting the advantage via an attack on the musician.

After announcing a 25% discount for WrestleMania 42 that lasts through the end of Raw, McAfee started to talk about how Orton will demoralize Rhodes, bringing the champion down to the ring.

Rhodes then said that McAfee doesn’t belong here and while he can’t touch McAfee, he can tell McAfee to go to the back and pretend to be a wrestling star, then thank whoever injected him into the feud by saying “Thank you, Daddy.”

Rhodes told McAfee that he never thought anything about the phrase “play a wrestler” until he heard McAfee talking about the Attitude Era, a time that was 30 years ago. He defended wrestling fans as not “marks” or even customers, but “family” and told McAfee no one wanted to see him, and to go home.

McAfee fired back that Rhodes was a fake cosplay champion and they went back and forth before Cody went to go, to which McAfee called him Stardust and asked if he was going to go play politics with Triple H.

Randy Orton then appeared on the Tron with a downed Jelly Roll before dragging the musician to the stage. Rhodes went to check on Jelly Roll and McAfee walked up to distract Rhodes, allowing Orton to hit him from behind. Jelly Roll tried to help Rhodes as the actual was pulled back to the ring, but got knocked off the apron. McAfee then picked up the title belt and gave it to Orton, who hit Rhodes with it.

Back from commercial, McAfee and Orton were in the back and McAfee took the title belt, driving away with it. You can see highlights below.
