Ratings Breakdown For This Week’s AEW Dynamite – Huge Drop For Main Event

As previously reported, this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite was up in viewership from previous weeks, drawing 922,000 viewers. It was even in the key 18-49 demographic, with a 0.33 rating (431,000 viewers). It had a 0.22 rating in 18-34. It was seventh place for the night and third in its time slot behind NBA coverage on TNT and NHL coverage on ESPN. The NBA game (Mavericks vs. Warriors) was particularly big, getting 6,518,000 viewers and a 2.20 rating. The NHL game had 1,658,000 viewers and a 0.56 rating. Other than that, Dynamite was also behind the NBA pre-and-post game shows, two other NHL playoff games and TNT’s Rich and Shameless. That aired at 12:08 AM but had a 0.48 after the NBA Playoffs post-game (which did an 0.91).
Dynamite was #11 with women 18-49, #7 in men 18-49, #6 in 18-34, #7 in women 12-34 and #7 in men 12-34. It was up 9.8% in viewers from last week, up 0.9% in 18-49 and up 6.3% in 18-34. Compared to last year, which was also against the NBA Playoffs, Dynamite was up 12.3% in viewers, 19.1% in 18-49 and 45.7% in 18-34.
The show had 94,000 in men 18-34 (up 19%), 59,000 in women 18-34 (down 9.2%), 210,000 in men 35-49 (down 3.2%) and 68,000 in women 35-49 (up 3%). The audience was 70.5% male in 18-49. Dynamite was the youngest-skewing English-language sports show on cable this week, fifth overall behind Mexican soccer games on Univision Deportes. The show did an 0.14 in 12-17 (up 7.7%), 0.22 in 18-34 (up 6.3%), 0.44 in 35-49 (down 1.8%) and 0.38 in 50+ (up 18.8%).
Q3 was the strongest quarter for viewers, 18-49, women 18-49, women 18-34, overall 35-49 and men 35-49. Q4 was the high point for men 18-49, men 18-34 and overall 18-34.

Q5: Rey Fenix vs. Kyle O’Reilly – 917,000 viewers (down 66,000), 440,000 in 18-49 (down 9,000)
Q6: Jericho Appreciation Society, Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz segment – 876,000 viewers (down 41,000), 420,000 in 18-49 (down 20,000)
Q7: End of JAS & BCC segment/Matt Sydal & Dante Martin promo/Britt Baker vs. Maki Itoh/Serena Deeb promo – 900,000 viewers (up 24,000), 423,000 in 18-49 (up 3,000)
Q8: End of Serena Deeb segment/Adam Cole vs. Jeff Hardy – 777,000 viewers (down 133,000), 378,000 in 18-49 (down 45,000)
