Ratings Breakdown For This Week’s NXT and AEW Dynamite

As we previously reported, both NXT and AEW Dynamite experienced a significant increase in viewership and ratings this past week, with AEW still slightly ahead. Dynamite had 772,000 viewers and a 0.28 rating, compared to NXT’s 746,000 viewers and 0.20 rating. Dynamite was #8 for the night in the adults 18-49 demographic (and #3 in entertainment shows) while NXT was #25 (and #9). AEW was the top ranked entertainment show in its first hour and third in its second. NXT was third in its first hour and fifth in its second. AEW was only behind MTV’s Challenge Total Madness in entertainment shows in both 18-49 and 12-17. Overall, Dynamite was up 14.2% from last week and 23% in 18-49. NXT was up 10.8% overall and 23% in 18-49. Both shows also had huge gains with teenage girls, as AEW was up 87.5% and NXT was up 221.4%, but AEW was still 45.3% better in that demo.

AEW won every major demo. Dynamite had 60,000 viewers in men 18-34 (up 17.6%), 34,000 viewers in women 18-34 (up 54.5%), 171,000 viewers in men 35-49 (up 16.3%) and 99,000 in women 35-49 (up 30.3%). NXT had 31,000 viewers in men 18-34 (same as last week), 25,000 in women 18-34 (up 25%), 124,000 viewers in men 35-49 (up 17%) and 85,000 viewers in women 35-49 (up 51.8%).

AEW’s peak in 18-34 was MJF vs. Billy Gunn, while the peak in 35-49 was The Young Bucks vs. Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. NXT’s peak in both measures was Damian Priest vs. Killian Dain. AEW had a 0.13 in 12-17 (up 30%), 0.13 in 18-34 (up 30%), 0.43 in 35-49 (up 19.4%) and 0.31 in 50+ (same as last week). It had 63.5% males in 18-49 and 59.5% males in 12-17. By comparison, NXT had a 0.12 in 12-17 (up 20%), 0.08 in 18-34 (up 14.3%), 0.32 in 35-49 (up 18.5%) and 0.36 in 50+ (same as last week). NXT was 59.2% male in 18-49 and 70.8% male in 12-17.

AEW won five of the eight quarters but lost the main event. NXT also won the first two quarters in terms of viewers. AEW won every quarter in 18-49, with the second very close. Here’s a quarter-by-quarter breakdown for AEW:
