Ricochet has given his take on the high-risk spot that injured Steven Borden at AEW All Out, saying nobody should be blamed.

Borden teamed with Darby Allin against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight in a number one contenders match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. During the match, Borden and Knight climbed opposite turnbuckles and collided in midair during double coast-to-coast dives.

Borden landed hard on the mat. The referee and medical staff stopped the match following the collision and declared Fletcher and Knight the winners. Borden was stretchered out of the arena for further medical evaluation.

The injury later drew criticism on X, with one fan comparing the spot to a coast-to-coast move Ricochet performed with Logan Paul. Ricochet responded by explaining that he and Paul had tried their version and added that injuries can happen in wrestling regardless of how often a move has been practiced.

“No, we tried it once and that was basically it. But it doesn’t matter if we practiced it once or 100 times. People have been hurt in wrestling doing high risk and low risk moves. It unfortunately is an aspect we face every time we step into the ring. No one is at fault here. Its just an unfortunate situation. So lets just hope that Steven continues to get better.”

During the post-All Out media scrum, Tony Khan said that Borden was conscious and responsive. He also confirmed that Borden underwent a CT scan and all the tests had good results.
