Roman Reigns had a hell of a fight on his hands against Penta, but was ultimately able to retain the World Title on this week’s episode of WWE Raw. The main event of Monday night’s show featured the OTC putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Penta, who won a tournament to earn the match.

The match was preceded by an impressive entrance from Penta, who had the crowd’s vocal support and came down with a massive headdress and pyro. Reigns on the other hand was booed heavily as he made his way to the ring. The two stared down for a bit before locking up, and the action began.

Reigns was in control early in the match, but soon found himself on his heels as Penta came on strong. The back and forth bout saw Penta target Reigns’ arm, while Reigns relied on his power moves to fend off the challenger. Penta even got people’s hopes up by leapfrogging a spear attempt and hitting a Mexican Destroyer for a nearfall, as well as a second off shortly after off a springboard for another near-win.

In the end, Reigns was able to come back and picked up the victory after hitting a spear to retain his title. You can see clips from the WWE Raw match below.

Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship reign now stands at stands at 149 days, having won the title from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 night two.
