Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance at AEW Revolution, and she says it was a chance for her to “flick off all the fans” booing her. As noted, the former WWE star and returning MMA fighter made an appearance at the March AEW PPV where she confronted Toni Storm, which allowed Marina Shafir to avenge her loss to Storm via a cheap shot.
Rousey spoke to reporters promoting her return to MMA in a fight against Gina Carano for Netflix next month. During the interview she was asked about her appearance at the PPV. You can see highlights below (per DAZN):
On Her Appearance at the PPV:
“[Shafir] goes out and kills it against Toni Storm and then I get to walk out and instead of being PG-rated WWE, I get to go and flick off all the fans booing me — it’s incredible, an incredible feeling.”
On How It All Came Together:
“It just happened to work out that it was [Shafir’s] first pay-per-view ever. And I happened to be in town and happen to have a fight coming up.”
While the match was not Shafir’s first on AEW PPV, it was her first singles match as such. She previously competed in the Mixed Nuts Mayhem match at AEW Worlds End 2025 and was part of a four-way tag team match at AEW Full Gear 2025. She also competed in Anarchy in the Arena at Double Or Nothing last May.
