Sami Zayn Cuts Emotional Promo Following Undisputed WWE Title Win at Night of Champions

Sami Zayn was feeling the love after his big win at WWE Night of Champions, and cut an emotional promo on the post-show. As noted, Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and Gunther to claim the title in the main event of the PLE. It was Zayn’s first world title in WWE after years of trying to reach the top of the mountain.

The post-show livestream cut into a promo Zayn was conducting with Byron Saxton for the live crowd. He spoke about how he was in front of his people and never got the recognition until now.

“–some good, and lately some bad,” Zayn said as it cut in. “A lot of folks said I would never win the WWE Championship. But I stand here tonight in front of my people [in] Riyadh… the WWE Champion.”

He continued, “It is hard to believe, oh my god. Byron, you know, I’m not usually at a loss for words, but I — [pauses as the crowd chants for him]. You know what? You’re damn right I deserve it! 20-plus years in the game at the highest level, never got the recognition. 10-plus years chasing this championship, never got the recognition. I don’t care what happens to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. Forever I will be Sami Zayn — WWE Champion!”
