Santos Escobar Reportedly Injured, Set For Surgery
Santos Escobar is reportedly out of action and worked AAA Rey de Reyes with an injury, resulting in his needing surgery. As reported, Escobar worked the Rey de Reyes match at AAA’s event of the same name over the weekend. It was noted that one AAA talent considered Escobar’s performance “lethargic” and Fightful Select reports that Escobar was working with a tricep injury that he suffered at an NXT house show over Royal Rumble weekend. Escobar faced El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. on the January 30th show.
The outlet reports that at the time, the injury was not believed to be a tear. He then worked AAA Rey de Reyes and aggravated the injury. He is dealing with a tear to the tricep now and will undergo surgery on Thursday.
It was reported by a site over the weekend that Escobar had been “quietly moved” to the WWE.com alumni section. However, that is not the case and Escobar has been on in the alumni section since his WWE contract briefly expired in October. He re-signed with the company a couple of days later, but he was not moved back to the active roster section.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Escobar for a quick and full recovery.
