Seth Rollins says he still doesn’t believe he has “properly” main-evented WrestleMania, despite closing the show on three different occasions.

First, Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during the WrestleMania 31 main event, then closed Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 by teaming with Cody Rhodes to lose to The Rock and Roman Reigns. The following year, Seth defeated Reigns and CM Punk on the first night of WrestleMania 41.

Speaking on WWE: Unreal Season 3, Rollins reflected on his WrestleMania career and explained why he feels one goal still remains out of reach. He said the milestone he still wants is to headline Night 2 as the featured attraction on the marquee (via Fightful).

“In my opinion, I haven’t properly main evented WrestleMania. A couple of night ones and the cash-in, yada yada. But for me, being on the marquee and headlining night two, having that is something I’ve always wanted.”

Rollins admitted WrestleMania 42 felt like it could finally be the year it happened. However, those plans changed after he suffered a shoulder injury at WWE Crown Jewel 2025. The injury forced him to step away from the ring, vacate the World Heavyweight Championship, and miss the road to WrestleMania.

“I do feel like [WrestleMania 42] was probably the year for it. To know that it’s probably out the window, it’s really difficult to wrap my head around.”

Rollins’ career already includes multiple world title runs, a Royal Rumble win, two Money in the Bank victories, and several WrestleMania moments that fans still talk about today. Even so, he believes one box is still left to check.
