As previously reported, longtime WWE executive and employee Bruce Prichard is going to retire from his role later next year. According to an update from PWInsider Elite (via Fightful), there’s word on who is being groomed to replace Bruce Prichard: WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.
Michaels is reportedly expected to step into Prichard’s role as Executive Director when Prichard takes a step back from his duties following WrestleMania 43 season. Michaels currently serves as Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative for NXT.
Although Prichard is expected to retire as Executive Director for Creative Writing and Talent following WrestleMania 43, he’s reportedly expected to stay on board with the company in a consultant role. PWInsider also notes that the current succession plan, with Michaels stepping into the role, “has been in place for some time.”
Additionally, PWInsider reports that Shawn Michaels will prepare to take over Prichard’s role in the coming months.
