Latest Update on Shinsuke Nakamura’s Mystery Partner Following ‘Time Bomb’ Promo

The mystery partner of Shinsuke Nakamura is believed to be former NJPW star Hiromu Takahashi, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The speculation follows Nakamura’s recent WWE promo, where he teased an unnamed partner while targeting the WWE Tag Team Champions Tama and Talla Tonga. He has been targeting MFT members since they became WWE Tag Team Champions on the August 14 episode of SmackDown.

In his promo, Shinsuke Nakamura described his ally as “experienced,” “vicious,” “deadly,” “chaos,” and a “ticking time bomb.” The final adjective immediately stood out because “Time Bomb” has long been associated with Hiromu Takahashi. His signature finishing moves are also named Time Bomb and Time Bomb 2.

Several other reports have also indicated that Takahashi could join Nakamura on SmackDown. Takahashi’s reported WWE arrival would follow his departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling in February. He had spent 15 years with NJPW before leaving the promotion.

Takahashi has not wrestled since his NJPW departure. His exit sparked speculation that he could eventually join WWE, though neither party has confirmed that he has signed with the company.

The current storyline follows an earlier tease involving Naraku, who had suggested bringing in an ally. For now, Nakamura’s “ticking time bomb” reference remains the strongest clue regarding the identity of his partner. If the reports are accurate, Takahashi would join Nakamura for a potential WWE Tag Team Championship feud with the MFTs.
